Cherry Wood
Cherry wood flooring is darker than most hardwood floors with a strong contrasting grain giving a powerful pattern to the floor; it is an exotic choice giving a rich warm feeling to any room.
Although not as dark as Walnut, Cherry wood darkens over time, this is important to remember when choosing Cherry as the whole floor will look darker a few years after installation.
Similar in hardness to Walnut, Cherry is less hard than other hardwoods, however it still makes a durable hardwood floor.
The appearance of Cherry wood floors is not as consistent as other hardwoods with the knots appearing in small clusters giving an individual look to every cherry wood floor.
Cherry wood cannot be stained like bleach; it goes black whenever a stain is applied, it can be made darker by using a lacquer with a dark tone.
Natural finishes are better like oils or clear lacquer. It’s also a very good for being cut and worked with by hand or machine tools.
